The Roux (Cooking/BBQ/Recipes) What good is a cajun site without a cooking and recipe forum?

[QUOTE=B-Stealth;772791]My wife cooks a quick "red beans" and rice with Blue Runner Red Beans out of the can. For canned beans there pretty good but there's a big difference from the real thing.

I treat my Red Beans and Rice like its a sacred dinner, straight up holy trinity, smoked pork green onion sausage, a small bone in ham or butt, and if my wife's not looking some smoked ham-hocks.

Sig, thx for posting I always enjoy your stuff.[

I found smoked ham shanks at albertsons. They season the same as hocks but have more meat than fat. like them a lot more than hocks.
