I have built 4 or 5 of these and eventually gave away as gifts or traded for something. They are great smokers and I never had much problem holding tips during warm weather but it can be a chore to hold temp in the winter.

Take your time, do it right and you will enjoy it. I mounted the ones I built on casters.

And if you can get two barrels and add and extra ring to give it a little more room is the ultimate. Gives you a lot of extra room on the top rack for big pieces of meat to cook without it being so close to the lid, or the lid possibly touching it.

And you can usually find the lids on eBay.
