it's $90. Basic fishing $60 + Saltwater $30. This doesn't include the thousands of dollars I contribute to the great state of LA each year for lodging, food, gas, etc.

if you compare license fees for each state you will see that they are about the same - in fact, I believe a TX out of state fishing license is $22 cheaper...

They are both top notch sportsman states. I think that the 2 states need to reach an agreement with each other similar to Toledo in that as long as you're on that body of water whether you break the plain of the mouth of a bayou or not either license should suffice. this is not the case however which is pretty lame. I don't ever fish BL but stay on Sabine so why should I have to pay out of state license fees plus some other hog wash fee to fish water that I launch in my home state. Before I get pounced on I have more kin folks from La than Texas. Can't we all just get along?

respective licenses cost the same. hiking up fees an outrageous amount won't do anything but hurt the local economy. Not trying to defend TX here but everyone should look in their own backyard first before pointing fingers. (even little fingers )

almost all of the TX fisherman I know are catch and release guys...

I fish Rayburn often...i think it's more of a bass'n thing for cross'n the border than salt. And on the comment about Galveston Bay...I've had plenty of good trips out of there! I recall heading to school some mornings and seeing trout riding the crest of the calm breaks in the 2nd pit off the shore and skip class for a quick limit of trout ...
