Spotted an empty spot between the storms and decided to make a run for it.
Left Lafayette a little after 9. Rain didn't let up till just past Jennings. Hit Hebert's at 11 and headed straight to Grand Bayou. Water was glass smooth making for a very pleasurable ride.
2 boats were there when we arrived. We took our spot, dropped anchor and began the hunt. After 4-5 hangups and one break off, the first red was in the box. 90 minutes later 9 of his friends joined as well as a pair of throw backs.
Back at the ramp for 1pm and back home in Lafayette a little after 3 just in time for this poor excuse for a Saints game.
Fishing this easy should be illegal. But I'll take it as long as it isn't.
All fish in the 20-24" range. And the only rain on my hat was in my own driveway.
