Weekend trip

Came on down to my paw paw's camp in Pierre Part for the weekend with my wife and the dogs. Second time being here since he passed away in 2013 while I was deployed. My brother kept his Bullet down here for the flood and I got the green light to take it out. Started out getting a late start and getting over to the spillway on Saturday morning and missed a good bass to start the day then nothing after that. Came back and fished some more and caught a few small bass but nothing worth keeping. Woke up this morning to the wife have digesting issues so I decided to go it alone this morning in a place I fished over 6 years ago. Wound up catching everything on a humdinger except for one of the bass I caught on a buzz bait as he was chasing minnows on top. Catfish I don't have a clue how they were nailing the humdingers but I left them biting after catching more small bass when the rain came. Might go back out again and see if I can't catch a few more bass and maybe try and keep some of the close throwbacks. All in all, a good day and a nice one to be on the water. Kinda liking not having to shave every morning and I think I can add on a few extra pounds lol
