Mama Tried...July 1968...I was 8 years old...memories of dad and me going fishing and listening to the song on the radio. He was the one who suggested to Buck Owens to name the group the "Buckaroos". Mr. Haggard gave us music we could relate to. God Bless the "Fugitive".

All the great ones are dying off and I don't really see anybody big enough to fill their shoes, the "keith urban" type country music just doesn't do it for me. RIP Merle Haggard

So true man. As far as the newer stuff I do like Gary Allen. That's just me though. Like you I don't care for the hick hop crap either. Merle, George, Patsy, Johnny, the Killer. Man that is great music. Several others belong on that list too. Elvis and can't leave off Waylon. I like Dwight Yoakom a lot also.

"In Bloom" That's a Nirvana Cover Song, I'm sorry he didn't do it justice. Like to see Chris Stapelton try it!

I have to agree with you there. In all fairness, some bands/singers just shouldn't be covered, and Nirvana is one of them. Their music was perfect and no one needs to put their own spin on it. Judging by the 2 songs from Sturgill's new album, I won't be buying this one. He's getting a little too out there for my taste. I wish he'd get back more to his bluegrass days when he played with Sunday Valley. One thing I've noticed and never understood is when a lot of these singers hit it big, they all of a sudden change their whole style. Why not stick with what got you noticed in the first place?
