Dad need a puppy

Well I'm now 50+ years old and for the first time my Dad who is also my fishing buddy when he's up to it has requested a Christmas present. Dad is 74 years old and has had some health issues lately and is currently staying with us. The other night he was staring at our Christmas tree and said he'd never seen such a beautiful tree. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said a puppy. I was blown away that he didn't say nothing as usual. Well he says he's always wanted a white lab as a puppy and he would like the companionship. So I'm on the lookout for a puppy if anyone knows a breeder or who has a puppy in need of a home let me know.

I saw these 2 ads in the Lafayette Advertiser: one had white lab puppies for sale. AKC registered, great bloodlines. Ready to go after Dec. 18th. $800. 337-277-7770. Another ad was for white lab puppies with champion pedigree. Website was www.saintpiuslabs.com and their number is 337-962-4067.

Try and talk him into a black, yellow, or chocolate if he wants a lab. These are the only coat colors recognized by LRCA which is who makes the breed standard for AKC. You will never see white or silver on any AKC registration papers. When people breed dogs for color only, bad things happen.

Wow, I don't think His dad at 74 years old is really worried about which pedigree it comes from and what kind of AKC heritage it comes from, and if it will not be allowed in field trials because it is not yellow chocolate or black. He just wants a dang white lab. A man cant even look for a dog of his choice without someone Hating on the dogs that don't fit their criteria.

All DuckTrickster was trying to say was a dog that's bred for its color, instead of health, temperament, and intelligence is a red flag. If 74 year old dad wants a white lab then go get him one. But DT was trying to avoid a sad situation of a dog affected with EIC, riddled with unsound Orthapedics , or aggression issues. It's not about being "snobby", just trying to warn you from somebody who has seen it.

Yea we he different labs growing up but his work work and us kids growing up left no one to help so for different reasons he has had only small lap dogs the last ten or so years.

Get him a King Charles spaniel and be done wit it. Great companion. I can't take a step without mine.

Labs are big lovable goofy loyal dogs. They're gonna chew and eat everything around. But I love em! Craigslist has free Lab pups listed most of the time. If that's what he wants get it for him. Post a pic of the new big footed clumsy pup. And enjoy the puppy breath- I LOVE puppy breath! Better hurry tho only gotta couple of days left!! Merry Christmas to y'all!
