Thumbs up The Littlest LSU Fan - Touching Story

This little boy lives in the Ville Platte area, and has just been sent home from St. Jude with no treatment options left there. He has the same type of tumor my son had (rhabdoid), but his is on his kidney rather than in his brain. His "wish" that was granted was to hang out with the LSU ball club and meet Mike the Tiger:

If you'd like to read more about James Vidrine, you can visit his CaringBridge website at:

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jamesvidrine

By the way, the video above was taken only a few days ago. This is what a small child dying of cancer looks like...he could be anyone's kid that you know.

Way too many wonderful, innocent children die from these $#&%#*@ tumors! This is why I do what I do, and try to get everyone involved that I know.

It's sad that this has to take place but it's awesome how people pull together just to make 1 little boys dreams come true.

"he could be anyone's kid that you know.:"

Unfortunately this is true. He's from Ville Platte/Grand Prairie. Our community really has come together to pray and do whatever can be done to help them. They have had to make some choices that no parent should have to make. They returned home yesterday to send and enjoy what time he has left with family and friends. Sometimes it's hard to understand why things happen.

Having been through this recently myself, I feel for them for the decisions they are going to have to make in the upcoming weeks. The hardest part is just beginning.

As a parent, this is handsdown my worst fear! My heart goes out to them. I pray that I never have to be in this type of situation.

It is said that everything happens for a reason and, I agree but, sometimes, it's damn hard to find that reason.

i cannot imagine ,as father of two, what these parents go throught. the lord my god has blessed me with two beautiful children and i pray everyday that they never hafta go through any of these things.we all as adults just needa realize how precious life is. that tomorrow may never come for some, thats why we should live each day as though its our last and that exactly what these kids do. pray for them and their families, prayer works!!! and if you can make a change in their lives, do so. for all of you out there who have children, you know the feeling. just love the kids , man thats all we can do is love em and pray.

Sorry to hear that, BIGJ. I exchanged a couple emails with his mother, and she seems very nice. I've been in her position and I can feel her pain. Our prayers are with his entire family.

James is not doing well, and may not be with us much longer. Please stop by his CaringBridge site and offer some words of support for this Louisiana family in this difficult time if you are moved to do so:

This is very sad. I just went to the site that Shad linked to, James looks so happy in all of the pictures. It's so hard to believe that someone so young and innocent can be put through some of the worst tortures in life.

Man I feel for this little fellow and all who love him. I hope the good lord eases his pain. Those journal entries just made me cry, i could not imagine loosing one of my children, especially knowing that they are suffering. May the good lord be with this little fella and his loved ones, lord lift up his spirits and make his days pain free and joyous.
