Thanks Dub. The filets were great! Kudos on your boat. It looks like a sweet ride and a fish catching machine!

thanks Ray. Range was 13" - 17". Sweetie caught the big one under a popping cork! Made her day after taking a cold ride.

Coming in Tuesday for 3 weeks.
The duck hunters are gonna love it, the fishermen are not. |

Catch and filet, I was also in the same spot today (around the wellheads?). We caught 10 trout similar to your size near some birds.

It rode like a cadillac compared to my old bay boat. Only thing is I will have to find a different prop. The four-blade is no good. It is slipping out the hole and doesn't grab on top end. I think I might go with a 13 3/4'' x 19'' 3 blade prop. What prop are you running ray on your 19 ft cobia? The front deck is just big enough to put two on the bow. The motor ran like a top. The hydraulic steering is sweet. Can't wait to solve the prop issue and really test drive it. Also, I need a few white caps to really see what she will do.

If you are slipping at take off, you can talk to a prop guy and get a little cup put on it instead of buying a new one. I have a 14 X 19, 4 blade. |

I'm basing my prop selection on numerous bulletins found on the yamaha website for bay boats and the 150 hp. The heavy boats use a 17'' pitch, and lighter boats use a 19''-20'' pitch on boats similar to mine. Yes, I will consult a prop guy before buying a used prop. I can't use the one now because I think it is completely the wrong prop. The size of the hub doesn't match the motor. It has a smaller diameter. I had a 200 Yam on my old boat which is basically the same motor I have now. The prop is way to small-- my guess it may be for a smaller motor (115?) All I know it is gonna be taken off.

I work at the prop shop in lafayette. 4 blade props are not exactly the best for a bay boat. If you want the best all around prop for your bay boat go with a mercury mirage 17p. I know what your thinking, mercury prop on a yamaha? We have used every prop on the market and the mirage is hands down the BEST prop for a bay boat. If you decide to get one with us we give you 30 days to run it,and if your rpm's or anything is not right,we will make it right for free.If you have anymore questions let me know. BTW catch and fillet, nice catch bro....we tryed to hit them in turners, but there were alot of idiots running with there outboard spooking everything that was around.
