Made it out to Cocodrie for the weekend and found the trout stacked up. Everyone I talked to was fishing the islands and said sharks were out and about. So we decided to hit a few other spots in the afternoons. The wind would be blowing crazy in the the mornings till about 1 or so. After that it was glass everywhere. We fished the rigs S/SW and found the fish stacked. I threw TW both days and ended up loosing 2 lures, one to a shark and another to a 40"+ bull red.
July 5th we ended the day with 116 trout, we did have 5 sand trout sneak in the ice chest) and 2 reds.

July 6th came with better sized trout and no sand trout. This was the day that I had one shark come and take my TW and then ,in about 10' of water, I had a big bull red come and completely swallow my SSjr. After fighting it for 10 min it made a big run right at the boat and cut the line. After a few more trout I had another big hit with a long run ended up landing a 25lb bull red. Ended the day with 84 trout and 2 bull reds. We did have a 6' to 8' bull shark come to the surface and check us out, then my wife hooked a 6'(guesstimate on length but we did see the dorsal and tail fin) black tip shark that was spooling the reel(with drag cranked all the way) like the bail was open. After about 5 seconds and almost all 200 yards of PP gone it finally snapped.
