Default 6-5 solo trip Vermilion Bay

Decided to make a solo trip and try my luck at the reefs outside the pass, water didn't look to great so as calm as it was decided to head to tiger shoals. Water was a lot better looking, and first stop was all it took, wasn't fast and furious but ended up with 24 nice troutImageUploadedByTapatalk1402113496.303778.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1402113514.649942.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1402113529.818898.jpg

Nice haul bro, thought about being out there all day long while I was working today, with the calm winds. How long did you try to get #25?

Default 6-5 solo trip Vermilion Bay

Speck, not bad really, about 10 til 3, tide was ripping in, and heaviest head I had was a 3/8 oz. Armand, LSU colored egrets wedge tail mullet
And #25, the bite had slowed down a lot in that last hour and I figured I had plenty to clean already... Lol

Do you often go by yourself? I use to but not any more because of safety. Next time, give me a call 337-364-4430 and we will go in my boat but I have 2 rules that I do not break, (1) everyone has on a life jacket when the big engine is started, & (2) no alcohol board. I can get into enough trouble out there without this.

Thanks guys, it was a blast to get on a good bite close to home, and Dave I do go quite often solo, just have to pick my days cause my boat is only an xpress 20' cc, and when I'm solo I never drink on the water, I wait til I get back to the launch.. Lol.. Or til I get home, I live in Nunez so it's not a far ride to ICY

Primeaux, I'm closer to CYP than you are and I fish out of my 17' fiberglass, cc. & also have to select my days. I've seen days when a 40'er was not big enough. Plan to go early next week, & may put down @ Burn's Pt. targeting reds, with plastics. Do you tag specks or reds? I started tagging mostly undersized fish that were going back into the water and have tagged almost 1,400 thus far, with 30+ being caught a 2nd time, none by me.

Hey there,

I wanted to go very bad today, almost went by myself, called several folks that could not go, even thought to head to Cocodrie, ended up stayin home, my son will be around tomorrow, so we headed out, I also live by the life jacket rule, and sometimes have a beer, but dont allow drunkeness.

Shoot me a PM and we can talk.
