What's this?

My buddy's dad has a bail bond service, sometimes guys put up guns as money, anyway he has this .30-06 Mauser style I think. It has some writing engraved under scope rail and instead of removing and resighting I was wondering if you guys know what type rifle it is. it says 30-06 on barrel to me its almost a Rem 700 conversion maybe? It looks like a Griffin & Howe custom which is worth like $12,000-$14,000 or a sport model springfield M1903 worth abot $400-$600

Not a 700 conversion. Just a full stock rifle. Several manufacturers make rifles with a full stock. Nice looking rifle though.

took scope mounts off and its a griffin! guy owed him $600 for bail but didn't realize what he had!

He was asking $600 but didn't know what he had, i wish I'd have known then, I'd have bought it right there and put it for auction on a firearm site lol. But i'd say he made his money back plus a good chunk of change.
