Default 5/13-5/14 North Texas fishing

Made a surprise trip home for mothers day to surprise my mother and family. My dad took off a couple days from work once I told him I was coming home. Fished Joe pool lake on the 13th. The lake has a 14-21in slot. High pressure and a stiff south wind made fishing tough. Ended the day with a couple pickles and a foul hooked carp.

Woke up this morning to much more calm conditions and some clouds in the sky. Hit lake grapevine with water temps in the upper 60's. Lake grapevine has a 14-18in slot. Threw spinnerbaits, rattletraps and medium diving crankbaits until noon. Caught over 30 white bass and several decent bass. My dad caught both big fish today, an almost 4 pound bass and a 2 pound white perch. Bass was caught on the medium diving crankbait and the white perch was caught on a 3/8 oz spinnerbait.

Had a great week off work and this topped it off. It's always nice to travel home. Also had to fill a large boudin request, lots of people up here love it.
