Who has the best prices compared to workmanship in Louisiana. I wanna mount the red but I don't wanna just jump to the first person I see. I need to get it in a freezer and out of a tightly ice pact ice chest. Any help would be appreciated. I got one price so far...deep south in lafy 15$/inch

Sorry but not sorry......Marshland is terrible my trout looks like its been sucking on a chili coney with mustard, back of it looks like a brook trout and gills are flared way to much, they messed up a good fish. Saw a red they did as well and it looked like the head was warped and short not good at all looked like a redfish with disabilities.

Steve German is the only way to go around here!
They are all relatively the same price.
Everything I kill or catch goes to German now, they are quick to and take pride in their work.

Gary Bell Deep South Taxidermy. You might find cheaper but you won't find better. IMO

When I do catch a wall hanger, it will go to German. I've seen the trout that Capt. Shaw has had done by marshland. He actually had to take a razor blade and cut off some of the gill because it was extremely flared. It almost looked like wings and the trout was flying.

Capt. Shaw, were the duck mounts you have done by German as well? If those are any indication of his work, they look awesome. You just need to move it away from the front door. I'm tired of having to duck underneath it.

I got a bull red mounted from a guy in New Orleans. We were fishing a nearshore rig for trout and caught a 45 lb red. I was 12 yrs old and flipping out. We gave it to the guide to have it mounted for us. The fish came back about 9 months later and in that time lost several inches and lost several lbs. That fish on my wall may go 30 lbs

These were done by taxidermy by sonny in baton rouge. These are the best I've seen. These are the only trout I've ever seen mounted that have the right coloring to me.

There are 3 types of Taxidermy jobs. Good, Quick, and Cheap. You can only have 2.

A Good, Quick job won't be Cheap.

Thx. I looked up marshland and German. I think I will go to Deep South. Now about the pose!!! I was thinking gills 1/4 flared mouth a LITTLE more. Tail curved in and up to see both sides and accent a little blue in tail because we were watching 5 bulls 25-30" hustle bait. You could see a few ft down and just sit there n watch n pic your fish. His spots are cool looking cuz they so old n broke up n got 2 on the fan. We had one red that had a sliver of scales go all the way to the very end of his tail and it had 11 spots (28") buddy wouldn't mount it and we watched it hustle bait 5' from boat for a solid minute. Man I wish I had my go pro on!!!! It woulda been epic!!!

Not sure on his price on fish, but Todd Broussard's waterfowl mounts are some of the best I have ever seen. Never had a fish done by him though, but his Redfish in his shop look good. If anyone has a duck or goose you should check
Todd out. Broussard's Taxidermy

German does great work on fish which some have mentioned.

I looked at his pics on facebook, looks like he has some good work. I saw one with a couple ducks dead mounted on a strap it was awesome.
