Cheers Trout, Reds, Flounder, Puppy Drum

Danny and Carolyn Lirette and Father Craig Dalferes from Houma fished with me today. We left the Reel Inn Lodge at safe light. Our first stop had us reeling in fish almost every cast, only problem was....... most were small. We picked away at some keepers then moved on. Most every stop found the same thing (small specks and white trout just about every cast). We decided to drift a bank for reds and found a red, puppy drum, flounder and speck. Not much activity so off we went. Same deal at every stop. I kept waiting on the tide to switch and start falling to return to where I put the hurt on them Sunday. No luck with the tide so we went look for more reds. We drifted two small bayous catching a couple more reds and trout and missing a couple. My crew had to be back at the camp for 1:30 so we were getting pressed for time. With no activity going on in the area I started sticking and moving over oyster reefs. We ran out of time and headed back in. Low and behold as soon as I pull up to the camp Capt Chris V calls telling me the fish finally turned on and was catching keeper specks two at a time every cast right where I had left 30 minutes earlier!! Danny said I'm not called the Black cloud for nothing!!! All in all it was a great day with great company. Plenty fish caught just not kept today. Next time Danny, we will eliminate that cloud!!

Come on down and stay with us at Dularge's Premier lodge The Reel INN. Sleeping 20 guest with the comfort of home. We have 11 of the most knowledgeable guides on the bayou to put you on the fish.
