Default Olympic opening ceremony......

What's y'alls thoughts...... Total fail in my book. Almost insulting to the history and prestige of the Olympics.

I see the historical aspects of it and think it's ok. Mary Poppins was a little quirky. The musical tribute is pretty good.

Let the Games begin!!!

The whole digital age is exactly what I would expect from the UK..... weIRd!!!
The beginning Idea was cool ; but soon fell apart!!
Like a movie with huge advertising, all this ecxcitement & expectations of greatness...... And it never grabbed you attention one the curtain opened!!
I'm still waiting to say" damn!!! That was awsome"

I was saying it the whole time in 2008 @ Beijing !!

It's amazing what some of the athletes have to overcome in their countries just to train and make it to thte Olympics.

Very crazy how some countries don't allow women...... Sad that places like that exist.
And the financial aspect of sending athletes has restricted many countries participants!
Not every country has facilities like the USA!

The US won the total medal count in the last 4 summer Olympic games. In 2008, though, China won the Gold medal count with 51 - 15 over the US.

I thought he could have shortened "Hey Jude" and done a second song.

I think I watched more American Pickers than the Olympic opening ceremony..... and I love the Olympics. The whole show just did not hold my interest.

Guess it hard to have a "WOW" factor when the budget was probably way less that 2008.
