Default Any MD's here?

So I jammed my middle finger between a piece of tin and a 1X4 and cut my finger right above my knuckle in the inside.

Small cut, not even close to needing stitches.......
but now I can't feel the inside of the tip of the finger.
Top, I can feel, but dead as all get out on the finger print side.

I can move it and actually finished the project I was on.

Would you guys go to after care?
no ligaments so I'm good there, and if I severed nerve than it's toast any way right?

I HATE emergency rooms or after care.

I think you are fine. If you can close your finger to make a fist, you didn't cut the flexor tendon. You would have to cut pretty deep to slice a nerve in that area. This only my humble opinion as I am not an MD. PM Dr. Jay

Just me but I'd probably let it slide. Just watch it.....if it starts to look like it's getting infected I'd head to the Doc.
Good luck with it.

i stayed at a holiday in last night

again

and my opinion is wrap it in gauz with a layr of ice then cote the whole hand in motor oil. the gauz and ice will lower the viscosity of the oil causing your hand to slide slower across the tin. this will give u the split second u need to change the tree jectuary of the 2x4 and miss da finger.

if u too lazy like me then jus wash it off and use it for bar tricks.

sorry could not resist

med help on salty ya right

Rat...You're an idiot if you think there are no MD's on here. MD's like to fish just like everyone else.... There are tons of medical people on this site and everyone who has any kind of medical experience usually chimes in!

That is funny. I think lowering the temp of the oil will increase viscosity though...But I like your solution to the initial problem

Ratdog,

I dont give a **** what you are... you clearly have made outlandish remarks and you get pissy when someone calls you out on em. You have sat here since the day you came back and cried over who did what to you and what the sites all about.... no one is mad. I dont claim to be an MD nor do I flaunt my certifications or "citifications". But YES i have seen MD's offer up their opinions in open forums. and most of the medically certified people on this forum are kind enough to chime in when they have some experience.

You're comment was ignorant if you were trying to call me out for a fight.

Thanks Rat..........I appreciate the experience you bring.
Funny thing is........the gloves were sitting on the tailgate of the truck........guess you have to put them on.

H
The finger is still numb...........but it seems to be getting better. It actually feels like someone is "shocking" it now when it's bumbed in the right spot.
Gerald
I could post a picture, but you guys (those that don't already) would think me a pansie......I'm talking a cut that looks like monofiliament made it while cinching down a Knot or trying to heave over a big fish (those like "W" catch) with the mono twisted around your hand.

It was really nothing to the cut, but it was a dead eye dan on where it was cut.
Must be directly on a nerve.

it's going to be fine. With or withour the oil
