My little brother came home from a recent tour on the USS Nebraska. He was itchin to get on the water for fun instead of work for a change. With the north wind blowin all day and a pic that I saw on here of the Holly Beach surf like glass, I decided to take him to the Sabine Jetties. The surf was like glass a we hoped, but after 2 passes down the last section of the Louisiana rocks, and only one Spanish Mackeral,we decided to hit a short rig or two. We picked up a few more spanish, and a couple of trout, but nothing spectacular. We decided to try the Texas side of the jetties on the way in, and each picked up a fat red. It was an ice cream day on the big pond, just wish we had a little more time for a deep run.
