Default tough day on the verm.

Beautiful conditions today on vermillion bay,not to catch all that much. Fished from the cove to tiger shoals with just 4 nice reds,5 white trout and 2 big flounder. There were a few ****** trout, rat reds, croakers, sea cats, but those were released to annoy some other fishermen in the days to come. Still had a great time with my 11 year old son(especially watching him land the biggest red of the day.)

Getting out with your son and just fishing was the ticket....catching a few fish is a bonus to that. Thanks for the report.

SPEC we picked up 13 specs and 1 flounder. We fished Tiger Shoal area and areas just out side of the pass. All were caught on plastics. 4 of the fish were in the 20-21" range.

hey jeff, the water was stained from the pass to tiger shoals. The best looking water was in the cove, shark bayou, and around blue point. Tried catching some mullet on the outside of the pass, but couldnt find them really stacked up anywhere,so we just kept fishing those plastics hard. with not much suck- sess. I did catch those 2 nice flounders on them though. Where did you catch those trout at cause we fished a couple of places in tiger shoal, without hardly a bite

We caught all the trout at Tiger Shoals. Couldnt tell you what rig or anything, i didn't look. I just followed a friend out there a while back and marked it on my GPS so thats where we headed. Caught the most of them on the bottom with a mullet.

we fished the big rig out there, its 217 ,it was blowing fireballs out yesterday. then we fished the little well heads close by,the current was really strong though and its tough gettting your bait to the bottom like that. I talked to some other guys at the landing who had caught 23 or so,but they went from tiger shoals all the way out to the south marsh island blocks

yeah i think we were at 219 maybe i dont really know.. The current was RIPPING!! fastest i've ever seen it. We started catching whenever the current slacked off though. I'm ready to start catching them at the trash pile myself. Speaking of the trash pile, did you realize mud point lost another island lol I almost ran over the SOB last time I went there a couple weeks ago

I didnt want to stay out there till the tide slacked,so we headed back to the pass to try for some reds. I didnt realize mud point was missing its island. was it the farthest one out? I havent been there in a little while, usually too many peeps
