Default Flounder Report 8/25/2011

Hit Gerald's Flounder Hole behind Clooney Island this afternoon.
Tore up the small and med. sized Flounder on 4" pink Gulp Swimming Mullet on a 1/8 oz. jig head.
I just threw as far as I could and reeled back to the boat with the current. Every cast I hooked up with either a Flounder, Croaker and some dink Trout with a few Poor Man's Tarpon.
Something was biting the tails off of the Gulp. I used a whole pack to get a limit of Flounder.
Just one Trout was legal, the rest were too small. Also had 2 nice sized Croaker but chunked back.
I tried several spots and most were full of Lady Fish and undersized Trout. This was one of the few spots where the Flounder were one after the other. About every other one was big enough to keep.
Thanks to Outdoorsman for telling me what they were hitting on. Water was very clear, I could see at least 2 ft. down, maybe more, depending on the area I was in.

I still have about 50 from last fall in the freezer.
Can't eat them things fast enough.
Good eating, but when you find them, they bite like crazy.
I was looking for a quick trip close to home to catch some
Reds for my dad. No Reds up here this afternoon.

Only one bag of gulp. I went through a bag last sun and only caught one flounder. Every cast the tails would come up missing.
