Default Galveston Bay

Went out in Galveston with northwest winds and got on a protected shoreline. Ended our wade with over 50 trout caught and keep our 3 man limits. All of our fish were at least 2-5.5lb and I stuck one a little under 8lbs 28in she was released loads with eggs after pics. Its gonna be a good summer!

Hey Nate....just moved to Baytown, maybe you can teach me a thing or 2 about fishing the texas coast. Know a little about fishing Galveston from living there 05-08...but not enough....just too much water to cover.

Nice catch man! Some really good fish in there, thanks for the report. Were they eating soft plastics or hard baits?

I have fished Rockport too many times. Its beautiful, look is crystal clear with a bunch of grass flats and sand bars. There not too many big trout that way though. Dont get me wrong there are big trout just not nearly as many as surrounding bays like baffin, san antonio bay, poc, etc. Whos your guide? Tell him yall want to croaker soak

Very nice job Nate given the north wind and tough conditions.

My family has had a place down in Rockport for 25+ years. The fishing can be awesome at times, June is a good month to fish it if the wind cooperates on the deeper reefs in Aransas/Copano Bays. Nate hit the nail on the head though, as far as numbers of quality trout it doesn't really compare to Big Lake, Baffin, etc. There are miles of clear flats as Nate said which can be good for drifting and casting to the sandy potholes.
