25 merc lower unit question

I have a quick question, I have a 2005 25 hp merc s/n #1b032464 and I was wondering how to disconnect the shift shaft so I could drop the lower unit.

I had a merc and I had to take the starter off to get to a screw that separated the shift linkage.

Wow! They made the 40 way easier to seperate.
