I dont have a problem with them fishing here either, but I dont like to see people telling us we need to read a texas magazine on conservation. there is a reason Texas folk like to fish Louisiana water...........Its because we have more fish!!!!! )

Agreed...it's just too bad you don't have any big ones because of the lack of conservation practiced in LA.

All he is saying is that it is a good saltwater fishing magazine that is conservation driven. It talks about the resource and keeping it for future generations. Conversly, look at LAS, that magazine only worries about the kill and how many they can sell now. They don't seem too concerned about the future of fisheries.

I think there are "those people" anywhere there are fish. We caught 30 trout in Big Lake (over 2 days a few weeks ago) and released every fish. My personal best is swimming in big lake today. There was also a group wading near us who I watch put every fish on their stringer that was caught. My point is not all out of towners come to big lake to destroy the fisheries. I came b/c I wanted to wade fish and don't have anywhere around here to wade. I hurt nothing, bothered no one and had a great trip.

Some people dont have the conservation mindset that others have. Doesn't make it wrong, doesn't make it right. A magazine is not going to change that mindset.

I personally rarly keep fish, which is even more of the reason I was not going to go to another Lake and keep them. I will keep a few to fry that evening or a few to give to my neighbor. I have buddies that WON"T throw fish back. They keep theirs, I throw mine back. Their happy, I am happy.

mikedatiger, no offense is intended and i am talking in a reasonable tone here, as a resident of the state , i dare say i pay more than than you do when it comes to taxes, fees, so on and so forth, in this state. also, all the banter about who releases more fish than the other is subterfuge, clouding the primary issue. furthermore, with all due respect to "W," i didnt make the statement that could be construed as inflammatory about raising the prices to being unreasonable and i think he was just yanking your chain...u just bit. i think your statement, "how many people are we actually talking about here? this discussion is nothing more than speculation/opinions without numbers," is also clouding the issue as the se texas has significantly more fisherman in it than sw la and the potential for abusing the resource is real!

I'm not sure about that one Ray, didn't he put huge holes in the reef by walking on it?
