I use weather underground for general weather and, Noaa Graphical forecast for wind and weather, and wind guru beachfront wind.
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/outlook_tab.php https://graphical.weather.gov/sectors/e ... nt=WindSpd http://www.tides4fishing.com/us/texas https://www.windguru.cz/206901 Predict Wind is also pretty stellar and sometimes the most accurate. https://forecast.predictwind.com/atlas/#Wind One note about wind prediction. It depends on how far inland you are fishing as to the accuracy of the predictions vs actual. If you are fishing Big Lake the majority of it will match the wind speed for the Beach to just off shore the beach. For example.. if you want to fish the coast and the forecast is for 8-10 north of the beach and in Big Lake.. but the forecast for off shore the beach 1-5 miles is for 20-25.. you can be 99% assured its going to be blowing 20 instead of 10 in the Lake. Use the nearshore forecast for the bays.. If you are fishing a secondary back lake up off the Calcacieau River, then the inland forecast still might hold with an occasional gust. hope that helps your planning. |
