If you can find a small round Arkansas stone, about 1/4" in diameter, you can sharpen the serrated blade of most any quality knife and it will improve the cutting ability dramatically! It just takes about 3-4 quick quick back and forth swipes at the proper angle to get the job done and takes about 3 minutes for a pair of blades.

Does anyone else do this: I use an electric only for taking the skin off of trout.
I like cutting the meat off a trout with a good straight blade, but find I have to "handle" the delicate meat of a trout too much to take the skin and scales off of a trout. I don't like the two step process, but i do like the result. |
