I don't have major problems picking backlashes out with braid. In the past i had some nasty ones that needed to be cut out, but this was when I was first learning to use a baitcaster. These new shimano reels have such a good breaking system that my backlashes are much less severe.

nothing like slingin a 1/2 oz jh into a post a ptrain w/o any brakes on in the reel and the sun is in your eyes then BOOM awh @%$#!!! no i agree the 20 is better than the 30 lb and the shimano reels rarely give me trouble with backlashes
