True, True, one technique I use when cork fishing is keeping the slack out of my line. I don't look at the cork, I feel for them just like fishing a jig on the bottom. If you do this you will double the amount of fish you put in the boat using this technique.

for the equipment, i use a fast snap tied to my line, a H&H oval cork, and a double rig I make myself with 80 lb leader material.

doing it this way I can swap the entire rig around quickly. you can go from a cork to a double rig on the bottom in seconds, very handy when time is of the essence.
