I used to take my kids (when they were younger) to Rockefeller at Joseph's harbor. Fishing from the bank at the East End Locks into the main channel at the edge of the parking lot has always produced this time of year. Try to catch some shrimp, pogies or finger mullet with a cast net and rig that under a cork; the kids will be able to see the cork go down and that will keep them busy having fun. If you don't have a cast net to catch bait, ask one of the cast netters if you can have some of their by-catch to fish with. Usually they will be accommodating. Also, it's closer than Holly Beach or Hog Island Gully. Good Luck!
