Either run through ( plenty deep enough) and fish the current edges, or anchor up on the river side of the cut and fish the rip rap.
Plenty of Reds and maybe Trout Too.
Also, if you go through and continue to the west, the roseau canes on either side can be very good too.
For Reds, dead shrimp is fine, you might want live bait for Trout.
