Education has its place, I'm just pointing out that proficient engineering is definitely not contingent upon a college degree. At least that's been my experience in 14 years working as an instrument and analyzer tech in Chemical plants. The engineers that come from the shop know every facet of the job because they used to implement and commission the jobs. We constantly have to redesign, rework, rewire, replan jobs from these desk jockey engineers with degrees simply because they ain't never been in the field. Sounds like you are on a very high horse. I don't know you but if you've never worked with an "engineer" that came out of the shop, then you really don't know what you're talking about. They are by far the best there is. With or without a degree

Hell i was about to go back to school for an engineering degree, guess I won't go now since I can stroll up to a plant and apply for an engineering position. Maybe I'll even start my own firm since you don't have to have a degree to sign off on jobs anymore. I'll just start building roads and bridges and call it good.

No high horse here, to me and trust me a lot of companies if you do not have an engr degree you are not an engineer. I work with several guys that know a lot of technical / mechanical stuff with tower internals due to their years in field but they are not engineers.

All I said was how can you be hired as an engineer when you only have a GED (no engr degree) .....and all the crying and whining started from there....WOW....

And the ironic parts was some on here got more upset than bruh did...

hell if he can become an engineer without a degree in engineering well good for him....
