I agree he should be shot for bulldozing the orchard down. My friend has 7 trees in a row with underground watering to keep moisture in area of tree roots. We put down shade fabric on ground to catch the berries as they fall. Now with the fabric on the ground you just get the blower and put the berries in a pile. I used a small baitwell net last year and you can pick up 5 gallons in 10 minutes. This setup will spoil ya....had 3 1/2 gallons of juice finally finished at 1:40 am this morning. Headed to store for a few bags of sugar.
These trees didn't do much the first 3 or 4 years....but now at about 8 years old they are producing good.
