I'm stopping there and getting a sack after work. How many people can a sack feed and how long do they last iced down in an ice chest?

Depends if you get a large sack or a half sack I fill up 2 48 quart ice chest almost to the top with a large sack of oyster and ice. As far as how many people you can feed, that's a loaded question. Me and a good friend of mine sat got to schucking one day on the tailgate and ate a sack of oyster by oursleves. Typically from a large sack of oysters you will get about 3/4- 1 gallon of actual oysters. When I was a kid my dad would get oysters all the time, he left them under the car port for up to 4 or 5 days at a time and they were still good as long as the temps don't get above 55 or so and you keep them out of the sun. Iced down in a ice chest they can probably go 2 weeks. |

Don't mean to insult you and I'm sure you already know this, but make sure you pull the plug on the ice chest otherwise your oysters will be very upset.
