Default OK, Who's gonna be fishing today in VB?

I'm leaving Lafayette at 12:30, heading straight there and fishing until dark. I got reports from 3 different people, who all limited out yesterday around the bay.

I'll be in our Blue American Aluminum, hopefully everyone will be catching fish.

Good luck to all

Fair warning!!!!! I went yesterday in my kayak and the STUPID people were out in full force. As you probably already know that if you fish the cove you will probably have people fish a little to close , like 30-50 yds from you, not good but manageable. Yesterday I had 3 different boats troll right through the middle of us with only about 40 yds between me and the next boat and they didn't skip a beat. As soon as someone would catch a fish a boat would come right through the middle. Also had an old F***ER troll 10 feet behind me then turn right next to me and parked his boat 15 FEET DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME! I'm not joking, I could have spit on him. I asked him what he was thinking b/c I was fishing right there and he told me that there was plenty of water to fish in. So I then commenced to throwing a super spook and smashing it up against his boat. He wouldn't move, so after this I was just so mad that I figured it was best for me to just leave before it got any worst. If anyone knows him (old guy, old aluminum flat, fishing with an old black, white walmart pole) you can give him a big F-U form me.

I've been reading these VB reports with amusement for a while now. I know nothing about the area. How deep is the water y'all are fishing?

I've never had a bad experience with nearby boaters. I fish mostly passes (Calcasieu, Belle, Caminada) and Turner's Bay. The breaks in the jetties at Calcasieu pass often lead to a bit of congestion as some folks are fishing when a boat has to pass through and it's too rough to safely go around the end.

We've even had a number of boats invite us closer to share whatever bait was working at the time. Everyone's always been completely cool. A couple of weeks ago, we tried to make the trip around the end to get back to the channel, but it was just too rough, so we went back to the break in the rocks even though it meant crowding a couple of boats. The boats were completely cool about it and we gave one boat our leftover crab, as they had been flogging the rocks with plastics hoping for flounder but were skunked and looking for a change-up.

Redfish in deep water don't care. Drop a live well lid too hard in 3'of water and you will spook trout. Whole different ball game.

This is the reason I seldom fish The Cove. It is not worth getting run over.

Don't blame you one bit....I have not fished inside the bay at all this fall. Not worth it to me.
