That's brown patch. Usually shows up at this time. Spray the affected areas with a fungicide and it will control it. You can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot.

This or chench bugs. Happens in st aug almost every year.

Also dont cut your grass so short. Its something I have learned with grazing cattle. If you leabe your grass 3" long it will be healthier all year long due the root structure being healthier. It will be more resistant to fungus also. I have green grass in my yard and it hasnt rained any significant amount in a good while over here

^^^^ this is what I do^^^^^ keep it longer(3-4") and when I cut it I cut it higher than a push mower can cut. Then I blow all the clippings so they don't clump up n kill the grass underneath.
