Good times today Down in Dularge. My Texas crew had a great night sleep at the Reel Inn Lodge. Ron, Rance, Shane, and Ryan Eliff jumped on board after day break. I told them no rush as the trout bite is non existent with the West/WSW winds. It's rough and dirty out there, don't be Mis-conceived if you think anyone is catching trout this week. Winds, rough and dirty water has had the trout bite shut down since last Saturday. Reds and bass were the main menu today. We found crystal clear water deep in the marsh and instantly started reeling in bass and reds. We even had a bay snapper hit a gold spoon and a perch hit a Matrix Shad on a spinner bait!! The box was getting full and the bite was slowing so we made a move. Cracked crab on a Carolina rig produced a huge CARP on the first cast. Not good as this is the second carp I've seen caught in the past week in Dularge. Moving on the guys hit a few puppy drum to add to the box and we called it a day. Everyone had a great time reeling in all the different species of fish today. The guys look forward to day 2 tomorrow with Capt Travis. Matrix Shad on a spinner bait or rigged by it self did the majority of the damage today, as always. Thanks again guys for a splendid day.
