I took your advice last year on the sulfur powder when we had a thread about this. Just made a mess and didn't work at all. Maybe I didn't do something right. During summer/archery season at my place in St Francisville, they are absolutely brutal and for some reason I "attract" them way more than others. I went a few weeks ago to put a camera out and fill a feeder. Guy told me to try drier sheets. Put them in both socks and every pocket you got. It really did work. First time I haven't been touched. But I am a little leery of trying this when bow hunting due to scent.

As for remedies after you get the bites, honestly there are none. I have tried every "coonass" remedy under the sun. I have tried putting half a gallon to a gallon of Clorox in my bath!! Clear fingernail polish! Prescription ointment! Some of these may help a little, or maybe just for a handful of bites. But if they really get you, you're basically just screwed and gotta wait it out. Clear fingernail polish is probably the most relief but not much help.
