I have ran the route several times through oyster bayou to the gulf. If you stay on step there is no problems. Never hit any gators but seen them everytime. I don't like how narrow and sharp turns are in oyster bayou. If another boat comes from the other direction it is very hair raising. That being said I am sure I will run it again. It is very scenic area,and a easy way to fish the mound area and shell keys. Be careful out there,lots of shallow reefs.
