In all fairness you did say anything would do as you were getting desperate.

I think it's fair to say that worldwide the yamaha 2 stroke 50's, 70's & 90's are the most common motors around.... by far.... you would be hard pressed to find anything but a yamaha in most places other than the US.

I chose to power my boat with a 50 yamaha for exactly that reason. You don't get to have the most of something worldwide unless its rock solid in multiple areas. They are a proven motor, with a rock solid track record, that can be fully maintained in the field with minimal tools.

As i think montauk's saying... any motor can go up.... but when you look at the overall picture..... those late model yamaha 2 strokes were as close to bullet proof as you could get.. at least that's my opinion and hope.
