Toledo Bend Solo Trip 7-6-13

Headed out for a solo trip. Fishing wasnt fast and furious but i managed a nice haul on carolina rig, jig, and crankbaits (6XD). Caught the barfish, stripers, and gaspergoo on the cranks. All largemouth and spotted bass were caught on jig and c rigged flukes in 15-24ft of water. Had to grind em out for a while and couldnt get my 8th keeper by 930 so I headed back to the camp for some breakfast. Good to be on the water and sticken a few fish on a jig.

Man I'd love to learn to fish those baits at those depths. If the bass aren't up shallow they are safe from me.. Good catch man!

This time of year they arent holding in anything less than 15 ft for long... atleast nothing with size anyways. You can find some early along shallow grasslines but they are small schoolie fish.

I hear ya. That's why that place intimidates me when they're not spawning.
