JA is right. I fished them extensively for the first time Monday. And I did it just like a Rogue or other surface slash bait, which I've been using with great success for years: Let it sink for a second or two, then I twitched it rhythmically twice, paused for a few seconds while reeling in the slack, repeat. I'm sure some others do it differently, but the main thing is to get it moving quickly and sharply to get it to turn and make that flash, just like an injured shad or pogie would do.

What I love about it is it's got some heft, unlike the Rogues and Slapsticks of the world, which are really hard to get much distance. The advantage with them, of course, is that lipped baits make that wiggle, which you can feel well.

Thanks, that helps, I never knew, so been tryin a "walk the dog" retrieve. I'll try it that way.
