Default Wiring question????

So I want to add more speakers to my boat. Is there an easy way to run wires through the tunnel from the console to the rear deck? When I tried to just push them through they get stuck on the other wire bundles.

You just might look real hard where your wirng/cables for outboard come out of top of transom. Most marine dealers leave a nylon string that runs to the console for just that reason to fish wires as needed.

Ditto, and everytime you use it to pull a cable thru be sure to tie a new piece of string to go with it.

And when you do pull it, pull a string or another wire to have as a fish for next you'll need to run a wire.

If no string there, use an existing wire that can be disconnected and pulled through. Tie the new wire and a string to it, pull through, then use the string to pull existing wire back in place. Actually, pull two strings and leave one in for future.

Fish tape is your best bet. Tried the string technique and hung up each time. Fish tape was easy to slide through and easy to pull attached wire back through the pvc pipe.

I will check to see if there is a string. Where do you buy fish tape?

most hardware and big box stores have them - get the nylon/plastic round kind instead of the flat metal if you can find it - less likely to damage existing wires - also if tube is pretty full consider geting some wire lube.

Harbor Freight has a nice plastic or fiberglass cheap. Even cheaper may be some plastic 1/4" poly flow tubing from hardware store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.)
