I did manage to catch a couple of trout also on the new rod. I do want to say the Calcasieu Xtreme Rod that jchief built for me is as light if not lighter than my crucial rods that I have. I like the action and it was made to be a top water rod. It takes very little movement to get action to the bait, I have to say I was surprised how little movement I had to use. Then to top it off very senesitive as we can all see. I want to thank jchief for the rod and the excellent trip. I did talk to him about another build and if you haven't tried one you need to get your hands on a Calcasieu Xtreme Rod it is worth every penny and you have it made the way you want it.
