Loons and red snapper are NOT protected under the Endangered Species Act, but loons are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, as are seagulls, robins, great blue herons, red-tailed hawks, etc. If you intentionally harass one, you will be fined.

Same with bluefin tuna, if you try to catch one on purpose you will be fined, if you hook one on accident, then its a different story.

Well let's see what federal agent would say? So you caught a endangered species and removed it from water ? But you took time to take a picture instead of getting back to water quickly
Here is your citation see u in federal court and you explain why you have a pic of a endanger species on the internet posing for pics

No Jr Game warden just stating facts ,we have to review sea turtle laws often offshore , we had turtle watchers at our platform for 3months while we were trying to remove an PNA Platform and they shut them down about 18 times due to sea turtle with in 25 miles

How bout just say, nice photo but you may want to be careful next time as these are endangered species

many mussels that people dig up when they are playing around in the river or the shells of them we find on the bank are endangered species,

and technically you are not supposed to keep any feathers from birds protected under the MBTA, how many people have hawk feathers in their cowboy hats?
