I stick with fixed blades myself. Have some horror stories with mechanical & some with fixed but the fixed blade mishaps were my fault.

This is what I would do if I was serious about bow hunting. Might as well tune your bow right then it will shoot fixed heads like your field points. No failing a fixed head. I killed a deer with expandables but I didn't feel like tuning my bow and I knew that was going to be the extent of my bow huntin.
