For next time, should I just keep on driving until I get to the river or do yall have any other suggestions?
Certain times of the year you can tear up the specks right by the launch at josephs harbor. Live shrimp about 3 foot under a cork works best but I have caught them on plastic cocahoes too. If you pass up the rock you will see the grand chenier library, dont blink or you will not see it. Not far past that just before the mermentau bridge there is a old crab dock on the right with pilings. There is a posted sign on a tree but I have been there several times and nobody told me anything. See other people fishing there as well. Mostly redfish, drum, and plenty of crabs at that spot. You used to be able to fish right under the bridge off the bank but they fenced the area in. There is another area just north of the bridge but it is really nasty from people littering and old crab lines. Such a shame how some people have no respect.
