Default Inshore Baitcaster for a Kid

Anyone have any advice on a good inshore baitcaster for an 11 yo. He does fine on my 200E7, what rod would also suggest.

Want to get him a set up for birthday.

first reel my g/f (at the time) ever casted in her life was a curado and ever since that's all I've put her with. A kid may want a little shorter rod though. I don't think you need anything fancy though. Curados are definitely awesome and then you can use it when he doesn't go with you..... if he lets you lol

Get him a StickEm rod with one of Glen's Outcast Baitcasting Reels. $230.00 approx! Really makes for a great combo. If you want to try the reel, I have one spoiled up here at the house.

Check out OCR in Lafayette. They cut down a $40 rod for my 9 yr old. Made it 5'6" and put his name on the rod for free. He loves it.

I bought H2O mettles fron Academy and put them on the All-Star salt water wader Classic series rods for my kiddos. Great set-ups. Cost around $100 for the whole rig. I use them regularly and have been pleasantly surprised on how smooth those mettles are.

I know "burnt" has a brand new stickem he is looking to sell. I have a mettle, no problems with it other than it needs to be cleaned. An old citica is a good choice too.
