Default Isn't It Ironic

Got this in an e-mail today, sad but true

The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps to US citizens ever.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "please do not feed the animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

South Lake Charles has had two new property tax votes go down in flames since I moved here 4 years ago. Schools are busting at the seams due to out of zone kids on free or reduced lunch with behavior issues and baby momma's. Schools don't want to kick them out because the Fed's increase each schools $$$ for every kid getting free/reduced lunch but the tax payers are asked to dig deeper to increase the size of the schools. Once a year the schools send home signup sheets for adding kids to the free lunch program, same thing with medicade. The state is spending major chedda advertising the medicade program right now. Drop Hayden off every morning and see 2-3 kids on one bus from out of zone and know they are the only ones picked up. Multiple busses do this, wonder why the transit system for Calcasieu parish is running a deficit? How many out of zone kids would make it to school if their parents had to drive them across town? "Eventually, they are going to run out of other peoples money." Margret Thatcher

Had the pleasure to spend 1.5 hours at the dmv in new iberia friday. To say the least it was an experenice. Do normal people need a license anymore. This place was like a zoo. We made it there for 11:45 am there were 5 or 6 ladies working come noon there was 1 working . We did not get our number called until 1 pm. I did not have my daughters birth cirtificate with me so i had to experiance all the loud talking gum smacking i will always love you ring tones baby running everywhere for nothing. The moral to this story is i dont know but i feel better now that i have that off my chest. Ps . My daughter turns 18 in 40 days and she said she will wait till then so she dont have to bother with proving i am her father. Thank god for small favors.

While I agree that this is a gross misuse of our tax dollars, by definition it isn't irony. Not busting balls, I just see the word irony misused and it bothers me.

I'm glad those out of zone kids pick those Lake Charles schools... MB is doing just fine with a hand full of out of zoners. Most don't last.. get into trouble, and it's off to the career center for them. Which I'm not sure why it's called career center, being 90% of them probably won't be participating in a "career".
