Actually if there's a south wind the north end will be higher and the vice versa, scientists claim it wasn't Moses who parted the Red Sea, it was a strong storm of hurricane strength, and when the winds subsided, all the water rushed back to drown the Egyptian army. But they also used to think the Earth was flat.

Happens at Catahoula Lake also with heavy winds, the south side gets deep quick on a strong north wind, but eventually it all evens out. The world isn't flat?
