the 2nd part of the statement is true about the accuracy.

Everyone I know that has a 30-30 says its a good 'brush gun'. Even a .50 cal is going to deflect when it hits brush. I guess one or two people while running dogs in Union Parish took a pop shot at a spike in some brush and the got lucky and had the bullet deflect INTO the deer. Word got out after that it was a good brush gun I guess. They are still telling those stories and still fighting each other over which is the best: 30-06 or .270!

The 35 win is proven to be the best brush gun. I read an article yrs back that did a study shooting targets with 2 sets of wooden dowels placed in front of a target. The 35 beat all other calibers. Slow heavy bullet less deflection when it hits something.
