Default 8-21-11 Morning Trout Limit

Took my wife's uncle, Jody Doget out for his first Top Water Trout fishing trip. It was a Slow bite early but the outgoing tide started ripping about 9ish, finished a two man limit in about 1 1/2 hrs. 90% caught on Top Water, finished off our limits with Tidal Surges split tails and the ole reliable norton sand eel jr's, same colors, chartreuse and glow. There was a boat about 75 yards from us throwing live bait, I didn't see them land one fish but for us on Top was practically every other cast, thought that was odd. We fished the washout area, water was beautiful and bait was plentiful. Chartreuse seemed to be our most successful color. Jody is now a Top Water addict I think, Big thanks to him, that man can sure clean a boat!

Back in Port Arthur for the week, I'm a weekend warrior for the next few weeks which I hate, I'm going back on the road mid sept so i'll get my long times home this fall in between jobs, BUT i can pretty much take some time off whenever I want too, may take a morning off one day this week as long as the weather holds

nope, that's David Collins boat, we hadn't run his boat in a while so I hung it in my slip to run for a while, I use his and he uses mine, we mostly use mine behind the weirs when we go floundering, crabbing or shrimping, his is a little wide to get through the gate.

Ya'll just give me a little heads up and we'll go but better get with me before sept 14th, after that i'll be on the road again for a while...Davids number is 832-863-7153...I'm pretty sure he is going to rent it out on selective weekends, depends on his work schedule but give him a call.
